Senior Business Analyst (Retail System Migration - Brussels Area) – FreelanceWe are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join one of our customers in the retail sector for a long-term freelance mission. The consultant will support a major transformation program aimed at replacing an in-store legacy retail system (20+ years old) with a modern POS platform — OmniPOS.The initiative represents a greenfield system migration, with the full landscape to be replaced by 2027. The Business Analyst will work as part of a broader team of analysts documenting the “as-is” system, while taking ownership of defining and elaborating the “to-be” processes and system documentation for the new solution.This role is ideal for a consultant experienced in large-scale retail or POS transformation projects, with strong analytical and documentation skills and an understanding of store operations and front-end retail systems.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the existing BA team to document current (“as-is”) system processes and architectureLead the definition and documentation of the future (“to-be”) system landscape around GK OmniPOSLiaise with IT, business stakeholders, and vendor teams to gather requirements and validate business needsTranslate business requirements into clear functional documentation to guide implementationSupport workshops, gap analyses, and data migration planning activitiesEnsure alignment between business processes and new POS solution capabilitiesContribute to testing preparation, validation, and change management effortsMaintain documentation consistency and traceability throughout the migration programProfile5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within retail or system migration contextsProven track record in documenting business processes and defining functional requirementsExperience with POS or in-store retail systems is a strong plusFamiliarity with system migration projects (legacy-to-modern transitions)English required; Dutch and/or French are considered strong assetsAdditional DetailsSENIORITY: SeniorSTART DATE: ASAPDURATION: 24 months (6 month renewable contracts)CONTRACT: FreelanceLOCATION: Brussels Area (1–2 days/week on-site)HOURS PER WEEK: 40LANGUAGES: English (Dutch/French a plus)
