We are a highly collaborative diverse team and enjoy the environment we have worked hard to create! KEY REQUIREMENTSRequirements Gathering & CollaborationWork with Product Owner/Manager, stakeholders, and business leaders to identify and document detailed business requirements supporting the product roadmap and customer priorities.Conduct clarification and alignment sessions with PO and cross-functional teams as needed to ensure accuracy and mutual understanding.Functional & Technical DocumentationDevelop clear and comprehensive functional specification documents, configuration designs, use cases, and process flow diagrams (BPMN required, UML preferred).Include mockups or wireframes as supporting visuals where appropriate.Translate business requirements into structured, actionable stories for development and QA teams.Ensure requirements incorporate strong UX principles, creating intuitive and user-friendly workflows.Solution Analysis & DesignAnalyze existing product functionality and user flows to propose scalable improvements.Create data models, gap analyses, impact assessments, and supportive analytics to ensure feasibility and business alignment.Ensure solution designs consider usability, performance, and long-term maintainability.Change & Requirements ManagementMaintain requirements traceability throughout the product lifecycle.Track and manage scope changes, ensuring documentation and backlog items are continuously updated.Keep all requirements in an up-to-date, “source of truth” state in collaboration tools.Quality & Testing SupportPartner with QA to review test plans and ensure they cover functional and edge case scenarios based on defined requirements.Validate developed features against functional specs before release.Training & Knowledge EnablementCreate internal-facing documentation and support content for super users and internal stakeholders.Collaborate with Product Owners and Customer Success teams on user enablement and feature adoption.Product & Industry InsightStay up-to-date with technology and UX trends relevant to SUMO1’s product direction.Apply a strong UX perspective when defining requirements, ensuring features are intuitive, user-friendly, and aligned with customer needs.Collaborate with Product Owner to translate insights into actionable recommendations for the roadmap.REQUIREMENTSExperience: 3+ years as a Business Analyst within a SaaS or enterprise software product team.Analytical & Technical Skills:Strong analytical, problem-solving, and system thinking capabilities.Proficiency in BPMN process modeling (required)Ability to decompose complex product requirements into clear, testable specifications.Documentation & Tools:Expertise in writing functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.Experience using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) or equivalent for backlog and documentation management.Familiarity with data modeling and high-level system or API flow diagrams. UML diagrams (nice to have).Soft Skills:Detail-oriented — precision in requirements and documentation is a key success factor.Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.Self-managed, deadline-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced agile environment.PREFERRED SKILLSExperience in SaaS or enterprise B2B platforms.Understanding of UX best practices and user journey design principles.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum frameworks and sprint planning.
