About the team: They are a growing private investment firm focused on supporting founder-led and family-owned companies in underserved micromarkets. They deploy flexible capital, including control equity, mezzanine, and special situations - across sectors such as healthcare, business services, consumer, manufacturing, and technology. The firm recently closed its inaugural fund and is actively building a robust deal pipeline.Role Overview: We are seeking a Business Development Associate to help drive origination efforts and build relationships with business owners, advisors, and intermediaries. This role sits at the intersection of sourcing, relationship management, and initial deal evaluation.Key Responsibilities:Source and qualify new investment opportunities in companies with ~$5–50M in revenue.Build and maintain a network of founders, bankers, intermediaries, and industry partners.Conduct initial market, financial, and competitive analysis to assess opportunities.Prepare internal materials such as one-pagers and deal summaries.Support early-stage diligence and assist in coordinating third-party research.Track market trends and produce insights to guide origination strategy.Qualifications:2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, lending, consulting, or a related field.Strong analytical and communication skills.Proven ability to build relationships and generate proprietary deal flow.Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable working directly with senior leadership.Passion for partnering with founder-led businesses and creating long-term value.What We Offer:High visibility within a lean, collaborative team.Exposure to the full investment lifecycle from sourcing to execution.Competitive compensation with performance upside.Opportunity to contribute meaningfully to growing businesses in overlooked markets.
