Position Title: Business Development – Nanovace Battery MaterialsLocation: Any City, Japan (Extensive Nationwide Travel Required)Work Type: Full-time | Hybrid / Client-Site Travel | Individual ContributorAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Business Development professional to lead the commercial strategy of nano-silicon battery materials across the EV and battery value chain. This role focuses on building the business from ground up, driving customer acquisition, expanding market share, enabling product validation, and positioning the company as a global leader in battery material innovation.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop strategic commercial roadmap for nano-silicon materials in the EV and battery manufacturing ecosystem.Identify and build relationships with OEMs, battery cell manufacturers, pack integrators, and material application companies.Convert customer interest into product approvals, commercial contracts, and measurable business outcomes.Benchmark customer requirements to enable new grade development and product customization.Lead segment-specific strategy for adoption and scaling in domestic Japanese market.Act as key liaison between sales, R&D, product development, and customers.Represent organization at conferences, tech expos, trade shows, and industry forums to generate brand visibility and market positioning.Build a strong sales pipeline by understanding technology needs, application use cases, and market gaps.Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)Bachelor’s or Master's in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Process Engineering7–10 years of Sales / Business Development experience in Battery, EV, or Advanced Materials industryStrong understanding of battery value chain, technical sales, and B2B market expansionExperience engaging with OEMs, cell manufacturers, pack integrators, and EV material suppliersAbility to bridge customer technical requirements with R&D and development teamsStrong stakeholder management and strategic sales planning skillsNative Japanese speaker with strong communication abilitiesPreferred Experience (Nice to Have)Experience in nano-materials, silicon anode materials, or energy storage technologyExposure to scaling technology solutions from pilot to commercial stagePrior experience in industry events, thought leadership, and conference participation
