Business Development Manager (English / French) Starting January 2026Location: New York Metro Employment status: Full-time We are looking for a dynamic, highly organized, and results-driven Business Development Manager (Eng/Fr) for one of our clients, a leading French food company specializing in the selling and marketing of a wide range of food products (Frozen and Dry/Shelf-Stable goods). Company description Leading French Food Group specializing in the import and marketing of a wide range of food products, focusing on easy-to-prepare, creative, and healthy food options for the US market. A leader in prepared foods, frozen ready-made meals, catering, pastry products, and bread. The company targets several market channels, including Retail, Club Stores, Foodservice, and Industrials, with specific product ranges for each. The company is seeking a dynamic, highly organized, and results-driven Business Development Manager for its US branch to develop new opportunities, drive sales, and foster strategic partnerships. In the short term, the Business Development Manager will prioritize developing business relationships with new, high-potential clients. In the long term, we are seeking a strategic growth leader to help scale the US business. Role description The Business Development Manager is an integral part of the company's U.S. growth strategy. You will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies focused primarily on the retail channel to significantly expand the company's customer base and drive revenue growth.Working closely with the Sales and Marketing Director, you will:Identify new business opportunities.Build strong relationships with key stakeholders.Increase sales in alignment with the company's strategic objectives. The ideal candidate must be sales-driven, highly autonomous, and committed. This role requires a "hunter" mindset—an enthusiastic and motivated person who thrives on developing new opportunities and partnerships. To reinforce and expand the company's presence, the role requires the individual to spend 80% of their time actively in the field.Responsibilities In alignment with the company’s overall strategy and sales policy, the US Business Development Manager will be responsible for: Driving revenue and performance: Grow sales revenue and improve the company's economic performance.Responsible for achieving the P&L goals for their scope (sales balance and contribution margin).Recommending and executing action plans, allocating necessary resources, and managing follow-up procedures to ensure sales performance.Actively promoting the company to all external stakeholders and contacts. Represent the brand at industry events, including trade shows, business reviews, and customer planning sessions, to enhance brand awareness, strengthen business relationships, and identify new market opportunities.Ensure high customer satisfaction and retention through a proactive approach, active listening to customer needs, and personalized, solution-oriented service.Working in close collaboration with the marketing, R&D, purchasing, finance, quality, logistics, and financial departments.Responsible for one direct report: US Sales Assistant.  The list of essential job functions above describes the general nature and level of work for this role. A minimum of 5+ years of dedicated Sales and Business Development experience in the US. Proven success in business sales development and demonstrated success in territory and account development in retail. Previous experience in the Food or Beverage industry is a plus.Bilingual Proficiency (French/English) Required: The candidate must be fully proficient in French to ensure seamless communication and reporting with the company’s headquarters. Ability to work 80% of the time in the field. Frequent travel within the U.S. and approximately 3–4 trips annually to France. Autonomous, self-driven, result-driven, and a team player. Must demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach with a focus on driving results.Strong communication and negotiation skills are necessary.
