Our extensive range of over 10,000 products empowers businesses to automate, control, and protect their operations with reliability and precision. With branches in all State capital cities, Mechtric offers nationwide reach with genuine local support. At Mechtric, we believe our people and partnerships are the foundation of our success.  If you’re passionate about technology, innovation, and helping Australian industry thrive, Mechtric offers an environment where your ideas and expertise truly make an impact.  About the role: Reporting to the WA State Sales Manager and Chief Commercial Officer, your role as a Business Development Manager will focus on driving sales growth, market share, and brand positioning across Western Australia for low-voltage electrical protection, motor control, and associated panel products. This is a dynamic, customer-facing sales position where you will identify and develop new business opportunities, while strengthening and maintaining relationships with key customers including OEMs, switchboard builders, contractors, and electrical consultants.  You will be responsible for achieving sales targets, executing account strategies, and positioning our brands as preferred solutions across the region. In addition, you will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide complete electrical solutions tailored to customer requirements.  Key Responsibilities: Implement business development plans for circuit protection, motor control and other associated products & solutions. Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities within, industrial, mining, and infrastructure segments. Build and maintain strong relationships with OEM’s, electrical contractors, switchboard builders, consultants. Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions for clients and internal personnel. Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and management teams to align strategies and deliver customer-focused solutions. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging market trends to maintain competitiveness & identify growth areas. Prepare and manage sales forecasts, budgets and performance reports to support business objectives. Collaborate with consultants and project stakeholders to ensure Mechtric solutions are specified and integrated into project designs. Deliver on sales objectives while upholding Mechtric’s commitment to technical excellence and exceptional customer service.   Qualifications & Experience: A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related discipline is desirable; equivalent technical experience will also be considered. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a technical sales or business development role in the electrical or motor control industry. Strong understanding of LV circuit protection and motor control products, standards, and applications. Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets. Experience engaging with OEMs, Switchboard builders, and Contractors preferred. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts/projects simultaneously. Proficiency in CRM systems and MS Office suite. High level of energy, initiative, and motivation to achieve goals.  What's on offer: You will be part of a talented team, work in a supportive environment and enjoy the benefits that come with working at Mechtric including:   A competitive base salary package and incentive scheme Tools of the trade (laptop, mobile phone, choice of company vehicle or car allowance) A great place to work  Stability of a long-established, privately-owned business Long-term career growth and professional development
