Business Intelligence Engineer – Japan 📍 Tokyo, JapanCompanyOur client is part of a leading global food and support services group operating in more than 30 countries. In Japan, the team is expanding its Digital and Technology department to strengthen data capabilities and enable faster, insight-driven decisions across the business. They’re seeking Business Intelligence (BI) Engineers to support data pipeline development, reporting automation, and business intelligence initiatives using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and SQL.The RoleAs a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer, you will play a key role in building the company’s data foundation and improving the accessibility and reliability of information across teams. You’ll develop and maintain data pipelines, automate reporting, and deliver actionable insights that drive performance and efficiency. Working closely with local stakeholders, you’ll help create scalable, data-driven systems that support smarter decision-making throughout the organization.Key Responsibilities:Gather reporting requirements from stakeholders.Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines in Microsoft Fabric (Dataflows, DataPipelines, Lakehouse)Create and manage Power BI dashboards to visualize KPIs and deepen business insightsLead data quality enhancement and data pipelines creation initiativesReport and resolve data-related issues.Write SQL to extract, clean, transform, and model dataAutomate recurring reporting tasks and improve data workflow efficiencyCollaborate with business users to understand requirements and deliver actionable insightsRequired Qualifications:Hands-on experience with Power BI (reports and basic DAX)Experience with SQL / Data Pipelines for data extraction, transformation, modeling, and loadAbility and willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologiesBusiness-level JapaneseNice-to-have Qualifications:Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (Dataflows, Lakehouse, Pipelines)Understanding of ETL concepts (data cleaning, joins, schedules, quality checks)Interest in automation and data visualizationEnglish
