Business Unit Head – Warehouse

We are seeking a driven and hands-on Business Unit Head to oversee the establishment and ongoing operations of a new greenfield commodities warehouse. This individual will play a pivotal role in setting up the facility, developing operational systems, and leading a team to ensure efficient, compliant, and safe warehouse management.Key Responsibilities:Warehouse Setup & Commissioning:Oversee planning, construction, and fit-out of a new greenfield warehouse facility.Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and suppliers to ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.Design and implement layout, storage systems, and workflow processes.Operational Management:Lead day-to-day warehouse operations including receipt, storage, and dispatch of commodities.Develop and implement inventory control procedures, stock management systems, and compliance frameworks.Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations.People Leadership:Recruit, train, and manage warehouse and logistics staff.Drive performance, accountability, and operational excellence within the team.Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.Financial & Strategic Oversight:Manage warehouse budgets, operational costs, and resource allocation.Report on key performance indicators and operational effectiveness.Collaborate with senior management to align warehouse operations with broader business objectives.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or Business Administration (preferred).8+ years’ experience in warehouse or operations management, ideally within the commodities, FMCG, or manufacturing sectors.Proven track record in greenfield warehouse setup or major operational projects.Strong leadership and project management skills.Sound understanding of inventory systems, HSE standards, and logistics processes.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
