Job Description

Develop strategic buying plans for the assigned department/category. Ensure smooth buying operations through vendor identification, evaluation, and selection, in compliance with the contract principles to achieve the strategic and financial objectives of the concept .1. Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, Identify and select new range of products and review the existing onesAnalyze consumer buying patterns and predicting future trendsAnalyze customer demand, price, quality and availabilityMaintain relationships with existing suppliers and source new suppliers for future productsLiaise with stores and territories to ensure supply meets demand and right product ranges are assigned in respective stores and territoriesSupport in the seasonal budget keeping in mind past performance, current trends and future events that may impact the businessNegotiate products for the assigned subgroups at the lowest possible price and with the most viable commercial termsPartner with the Merchandise Planner to manage and control inventory levels, stock replenishment and delivery objectivesReview existing items to ensure products remain competitiveProvide a commercially viable range of merchandise at competitive pricesKeep up to date with market trends and react to changes in demandAnalyzing market reports and strategizing plans for the stores, then presenting ideas to senior managementCreate promotional plans in conjunction with marketingConduct market visits for R & D both International and within territoriesAttend Trade fairs every season in order to assess trends and be abreast with the current market scenarioTravel and meet Suppliers every season and place orders to get timely deliveriesTrain and mentor junior staff2.
