Responsible for sourcing, Initial order PO tracking and creation, EOP price negotiations and cost reduction and price increase mitigation activities for a group of progressively complex commodities. Tracks and reports on status of sourcing, cost reductions, EOP, process improvements, and other defined goals for assigned commodities. Interfaces with other departments and suppliers to ensure successful execution of service parts. Engages in peer coaching of other buyers. Prepares professional presentations and leads meetings as required.A Day in the Life: Negotiates and establishes commodity prices for IO and EOP in support of the department's cost reduction goals. Engages with end users of assigned commodities (client groups and/or engineers) to establish understanding of the requirements and specifications of commodities. Plans, develops, implements, and maintains cost reduction and/or price increase mitigation plans for assigned commodities. Tracks and validates cost savings and cost increase data. Coordinates activities between all departments and supplier base to ensure contract compliance and resolution of all major issues dealing with quality, cost, delivery, and design. Updates databases and other records related to Purchasing functions on a weekly basis in order to accurately report statuses for assignment activities. Analyzes progress toward departmental goals and initiates mitigation action(s) as needed to ensure that goals and deadlines are met. Supports requests from others for data creation, data confirmation, status updates, and other activities as needed. Contributes to departmental knowledge transfer by training and coaching new buyers and serving as a peer mentor. Communicates with global counterparts to facilitate alignment of purchasing activities. Engages in workflow improvement by developing analytical techniques for purchasing activities such as quote review and bundling analysis. Who We're Looking for:Required:Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experiences. Understanding of strategic sourcing, cost reduction and cost mitigation, including budget analysis, quote analysis, benchmarking, and negotiation. Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. An ability to learn and utilize other computer applications as necessary. English (Intermediate- Advanced)Ability to perform work onsite at Toluca Distribution Center (CDR). Travel requirements: Yes 30%Desired:1 year of related experience at a professional level.
