Project BuyerLocation: East London (Hybrid)Sector: Infrastructure / WaterOverviewWe’re looking for an organised and proactive Project Buyer to join a growing procurement function supporting large-scale infrastructure works across the London region. This role will suit someone who enjoys working at the intersection of engineering, supply chain, and project delivery — ensuring that materials and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with programme needs.Working closely with internal teams across Engineering, Commercial, and Project Management, you’ll help secure key packages and build strong relationships with suppliers to keep projects moving smoothly.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the full procurement process for assigned work packages, from initial supplier engagement through to delivery and close-out.Support the development of procurement plans and sourcing strategies in line with project objectives.Prepare and issue tender documents, evaluate bids, and contribute to supplier selection decisions.Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms with vendors to ensure best value outcomes.Draft and manage purchase orders, variation agreements, and supporting documentation.Liaise with project and finance teams to track costs, budgets, and performance metrics.Monitor supplier performance and delivery progress, addressing any risks or delays proactively.Contribute to regular procurement and project progress reports.About You3–5 years’ experience in a project buying or procurement role within engineering, construction, or utilities.Strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier negotiation, and commercial best practice.Comfortable working within cross-functional project teams.Experience using ERP or procurement systems to manage orders and supplier data.Excellent communication and organisational skills, with an eye for detail.Confident managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced project environment.What’s on OfferOn top of a generous package including annual bonus, you’ll join a collaborative team with clear opportunities to progress your procurement career.
