Our client is looking for a Senior Legal Director to join their team in Comoros to oversee all legal, regulatory and compliance matters. Key Responsibilities will Include: Lead and establish the legal function in line with the airport’s strategic and operational goals. Advise executive leadership and the Board on legal governance, risks, liabilities, and compliance issues. Ensure adherence to Union of the Comoros laws, corporate statutes, and international best practices. Oversee compliance with aviation regulations including ICAO, IATA, and regional agreements. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including those related to airlines, concessions, and infrastructure projects.
Manage legal disputes, litigation, and arbitration processes in coordination with internal and external counsel. Identify legal risks across departments and implement appropriate mitigation strategies and compliance frameworks. Supervise data protection, environmental compliance, and airport safety regulations from a legal standpoint. Build and mentor a legal and compliance team while conducting legal awareness and ethics training. Uphold organizational policies on safety, sustainability, and emergency response, ensuring legal integrity in all functions. Who we’re looking for: Must have a bachelor’s degree in law. Must have 10 years of legal experience with 5 years in a senior level advisory role.
Experienced working with government stake holders, bilateral or multilateral development Agencies and cross border legal matters. Experienced in managing external legal counsels, with strong background in infrastructure, aviation, regulatory in law. Proficient in French and English.
