Job SummaryWe are looking for 1 committed practitioner who would like to further their studies to train with South West CYP IAPT. We are offering one additional place to study place on their CBT IAPT training course as a secondment for staff working in the central CAMHS ICA. This is due to the demand and length of waiting lists for CBT in mid Cornwall. The course is is aimed at staff who work with a range of presentations in their daily practice and would equip you with a BABCP-accredited Postgraduate Diploma. The training is fully funded and can be offered on a secondment basis for suitably qualified staff working in mid CAMHS. community CAMHS on successful completion.The course runs for one year, between January and December. This training course is funded by HEE, you would be studying at the University of Exeter 2 days a week and working in a children's mental health service 2-3 days per week.'KSA' stands for 'Knowledge Skills and Attitude' and involves completing a portfolio throughout the year to show how your current skills match the level necessary for a core profession. To be eligible for the KSA route you would need to have a minimum of 2 years' relevant full-time equivalent therapeutic experience in a mental health setting. Find out more about the KSA route BABCP website.The post will be based in Mid Cornwall likley working across the Truro and St Austell sites.https://youtu.be/AAw8fv32fP8Main duties of the jobEXPECTED START DATE 5th January 2026We will consider applicants from a range of CAMHS professionals and those with suitable experiences in children's mental health according to the CYP-IAPT Knowledge and skills framework.This is a training role within the Child and Young Persons Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (CYP-IAPT). The post-holder will work within Cornwall CAMHS service at Cornwall Partnership Trust, providing interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role at the University of Exeter.This intensive training post will equip the post holder to provide interventions based on CYP-IAPT core principles and an evidence based intervention consistent with their training course. The post- holder would be expected to attend and fulfil all the requirements of the training element of the post and continue to work within the CAMHS service on qualification.Graduates of any other HEE funded course need to be 2 years post graduation to be eligible to apply.The course is suitable for anyone who already has a foundation in CBT skills. You would need to have:Level 6 qualification, and a core profession recognised by BABCP.OREligibility to complete the course via the KSA route.
