The REU will be a new unit sitting within Building Safety Division Operations and it will administer, enforce and drive accountable persons (APs) to remediate all HRBs with combustible cladding, in particular those with ACM and HPL. The REU will be responsible for identifying eligible buildings using data from HSE, MHCLG and partners. Buildings will be grouped by AP and action targeted on those without remediation action plans first.Case Workers will have a key role in the new unit and will be responsible for reviewing and responding appropriately to remediation action plans for HRBs with combustible cladding, including any required enforcement activity. This important role will also be responsible for monitoring progress against remediation action plans, working with Government funding schemes and other regulators until remediation is complete.Part-time working hours are available for this role. We can accept part time applicants who can commit to working a minimum of 30 hours per week.Job DescriptionThe government announced on 30 June 2025 that the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) is to become an Executive Agency of Ministry for Housing, Communities, and Local Government (MHCLG) and will be moved out of HSE. This is the natural next step in the development of the regulator and was always a likely outcome once BSR was established.Any successful candidates recruited to this vacancy will initially be onboarded to HSE, with a move to the new Executive Agency to be undertaken in due course.As a Case Worker, you will make effective recommendations to ensure compliance, based on the analysis of information as well as assessing compliance against regulatory requirements and standards.
