It’s a challenge that never ends, and drives every individual in our team to make tomorrow better than today for our customers.Driving sustainability, our procurement and supply chain function meet the demands of the Qantas Group’s diverse portfolio, while maximising the value from our supplier related expenditure.Group Procurement is responsible for the sourcing and ongoing commercial relationships of our suppliers including leading or supporting RFPs, supplier negotiations, contract development, contract reviews and contract executions.In your role as Category Manager, you will be responsible for working with key stakeholders to understand relevant Qantas Group business needs, and work to develop and maintain the ongoing management of aligned category strategies that ensure value for money, appropriate levels of service and compliance with procedures and professional best practice. You will ensure that an appropriate strategy is established, setting out how the Qantas Group approach the category and deliver value in the long and short term.You’ll Have7+ years’ experience working in commercial roles with large multi-national organisations Tertiary qualifications in a related Business, Commercial or Finance discipline; Accreditation from Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply desirable Experience working within or supporting commercial and operational environments. Commercially focused with the ability to correctly assess the impact of decisions on business outcomes Experience in leading sourcing activities as a procurement specialist or category manager Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with ability to resolve complex issues Highly developed direct and virtual leadership skills including performance management, coaching, mentoring and development Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including natural adaptability across seniority levels, cultures and global borders Proven track record of achieving KPI targets Management experience in an operational business with significant supplier and stakeholder influencing responsibility Why Qantas?
