Job Description
We are seeking a Category Manager to develop and implement strategies for category growth, lead marketing and brand management to build brand equity, and manage P&L to drive profitability. The role involves identifying innovation opportunities aligned with consumer needs, managing product lifecycles, and ensuring timely launches of new products and brands to meet emerging market demands. Key responsibilities would include:Developing and implementing long-term category and brand portfolio strategies aligned with consumer needs, market trends, and corporate priorities.Creating and executing roadmaps for key growth drivers to achieve category and brand growth targets.Reviewing and evaluating brand performance, market developments, and competitor activities, and taking corrective actions as needed.Developing and implementing brand marketing plans within budget and timelines to build brand equity and awareness.Leading brand communication, advertising, promotions, and event marketing to enhance brand image and positioning.Managing category P&L by optimizing portfolio, pricing strategies, and A&P budgets to drive profitability.Overseeing innovation pipelines, market research, and product lifecycle management to ensure timely launches and alignment with consumer needs.Coordinating with sales, regulatory, and nutrition teams to align strategies, ensuring compliance, and supporting medical promotions.Leading pricing, promotions, and shopper communication strategies to ensure executional excellence across channels.Driving media planning, innovation, and performance evaluation while ensuring cost-efficient media buying and supplier payment processes. You should possess the following:Bachelor’s Degree in a Marketing / Business Management field, with a CIM/CIMA qualification. Master’s degree would be highly preferable.5-7 years of Brand Equity Management experience in a consumer product category within the FMCG industry.Project Management experience managing end-to-end new product launches3-5 years of experience in shopper/category marketing or trade marketing within FMCG.3-5 years of experience in media planning for a consumer product category within FMCG.Strong Microsoft Office application skills: Word, Excel and PowerPoint,Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI would be advantageous
