It offers an unparalleled experience for nature enthusiasts and adventurers alike.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site position as a Chef, based at Tufi Resort in Papua New Guinea. The Chef will be responsible for planning and preparing meals that highlight fresh, locally sourced ingredients in a variety of cuisines. Daily responsibilities include menu development, food preparation and presentation, supervision of kitchen staff, ensuring hygiene and safety standards, managing inventory, and maintaining the culinary hospitality that enhances the guest experience. The Chef will also collaborate with the broader team to cater to guest dietary needs while upholding the resort’s reputation for high-quality dining.QualificationsExpertise in cooking techniques, menu planning, and food presentationStrong organizational skills, with the ability to manage kitchen operations and inventoryProficiency in maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen cleanlinessPrevious experience in team management and mentoring culinary staffAdaptability to work with diverse cuisines, especially incorporating fresh local ingredientsExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsFlexibility to work in a remote location and adapt to a multicultural environmentFormal culinary education or equivalent professional culinary experience is preferredPrior experience in resort or hospitality operations is an advantage*Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
