Chemical Lab TechnicianAbout the Role: We are looking for a detail-oriented Chemical Lab Technician to join our Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) team at Obeikan Glass Company. In this role, you will be responsible for testing and ensuring the quality of raw materials and glass products according to company and international standards. You will play a key part in maintaining product excellence and supporting continuous improvement in our glass production process.Key Responsibilities:Ensure full compliance with safety and 5S standards in all lab operations.Conduct routine laboratory tests on raw materials, glass, water, and batches to verify quality.Check and analyze incoming raw materials and ensure adherence to glass quality standards.Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment as per quality and calibration requirements.Take samples from raw materials, silos, mixers, and batch chargers at defined intervals to ensure consistency.Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and internal QA/QC procedures.Record, report, and communicate results of accepted, deviated, or rejected materials to the Head of Quality.Perform daily cross-checks, calibration, and maintenance of the XRF Spectrophotometer.Participate in corrective and preventive action processes and continuous improvement initiatives.Adhere to WCOM and 5S systems, and support Lean and TQM activities in the lab area.Track consumables and monitor the department’s overtime and operational budgets.Ensure accurate and smooth shift handovers with detailed reporting.Identify and report any unsafe acts, near misses, or unsafe conditions promptly.Perform other duties as assigned by the Chemical Lab Supervisor or management.Qualifications & SkillsDiploma or bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field.Proven experience in glass manufacturing or in similar/related industry.Knowledge of ISO 9001, 5S, and WCOM systems.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as XRF Spectrophotometer and other chemical testing instruments.Good communication and teamwork skills.Commitment to safety and quality excellence.
