Chief Accountant

We are expanding our finance function and looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to lead our accounting operations in Warsaw. This role requires hands-on experience managing full-cycle accounting in a dynamic fintech environment.Responsibilities1. Accounting and Tax ManagementFull-cycle accounting and tax compliance for the holding structure.Coordination and control of statutory reporting in all jurisdictions through external providers.Validation and audit of data provided by external accounting teams.Categorisation and posting of all fiat and crypto transactions.PSP/Acquiring accounting: merchants, providers, settlements, rolling reserves.Accounting of crypto assets, custody flows, FX differences, provider fees.Ensuring alignment of transactions with the company’s payment calendar.2. Crypto AccountingAccounting of movements across custodial and non-custodial wallets.Integration of data from on/off-ramp providers.Assessment of tax implications of crypto-related activities.Consolidation of crypto balances into fiat-based reporting.Monthly reconciliations: blockchain → providers → accounting.3. Management ReportingPreparation of management financial statements: P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet.Monthly closing and reconciliation cycles.Budget variance analysis and financial insights.Providing financial visibility and support for CEO-level decision-making.4. External Stakeholder ManagementOversight and coordination of external accounting firms in all jurisdictions.Control of tax calendars, reporting deadlines, and cross-border obligations.Preparation of document packages for annual audits.Interaction with banks, PSP providers, compliance auditors, and regulators.Review of tax implications for new business models and contracts.5. Internal Processes and DocumentationMaintenance of the financial section in Confluence / Google Drive.Full digital archiving of invoices, contracts, statements, and reports.Creation and maintenance of internal accounting procedures.Oversight of data integrity across ERP/1C/QuickBooks/GS systems.Initiation of automation and process improvement within the finance function.Candidate Requirements5+ years of experience as Chief Accountant or Senior Accountant.Experience working with international/multi-entity holding structures.Understanding of tax regulations in Poland, Cyprus, UK, Switzerland, Latvia, LATAM, Hong Kong.Strong experience working with external accounting firms.Crypto accounting experience is required (or PSP/high-risk acquiring background).Excellent English and Russian (suitable for audits, reporting, and cross-border communication).Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, ERP systems, QuickBooks/1C, online banking.High attention to detail, structured thinking, and ability to manage multiple jurisdictions simultaneously.We offer:Full-time, on-site role in our Warsaw office.Competitive compensation package aligned with experience.Growth opportunities within a fast-scaling international FinTech company.International, diverse team with colleagues from Latvia, Ukraine working on - site and remotely.Supportive environment with direct communication and fast decision-making.Participation in process optimization, implementation of best accounting practices, and building the finance function.
