Collexo(collexo.com) is a SaaS-based embedded payments platform built on top of Meritto’s education operating system. It unifies fee collections and student payments, digitizing all financial interactions between institutions and students. In FY 2025, Collexo processed over ₹2,000 crore in fee transactions, reflecting strong early adoption and rapid integration growth. Earlier this year, we also launched the smart student ID card, Pixi, to further digitize student paymentsRole Objective: Chief Business Officer (CBO) - Payment BusinessThe CBO will lead scaling of Collexo and Pixi into the education ecosystem. This role is focused on business development, revenue growth, GTM execution, and strategic partnerships, with full ownership of P&L, topline expansion, and ecosystem growth.Key Responsibilities1. Business Development & Market ExpansionLead and scale high-performance business development teams across institutional sales, partnerships, and channels.Build scalable playbooks for new customer acquisition, enterprise sales, and territory expansion.Own the funnel end-to-end: lead generation, pipeline growth, conversion, and retention, in close collaboration with Marketing and Product.2. GTM Execution & Growth PlanningDesign and execute differentiated go-to-market (GTM) strategies for each education segment - K–12, higher education, coaching, and EdTech.Align closely with Marketing and Product on positioning, differentiation, and campaign execution.Establish rigorous performance tracking and analytics to optimize the sales funnel and improve conversion efficiency.3. Revenue Ownership & Monetization StrategyFull P&L ownership with accountability for revenue, margins, and unit economics.Define and optimize monetization models across Collexo’s product suite - Collect, EMI, AutoDebit, and Pixi.Develop pricing, bundling, upsell/cross-sell, and channel monetization strategies.4. Strategic Partnerships & AlliancesForge and manage strategic relationships with banks, NBFCs, card networks (RBI, NPCI, Visa, Mastercard, UPI), payment gateways, and campus operators.Negotiate and execute high-impact partnerships - revenue-share models, co-branded offerings, and product integrations that expand reach and adoption.5. Product & Customer Strategy AlignmentServe as the voice of the market and customer, ensuring product-market fit and commercial success.Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and UX teams to prioritize business-led innovation.Drive adoption, retention, and engagement across customer segments to deepen platform stickiness.Ideal Profile15+ years of experience in fintech, payments, or banking, with a proven track record in scaling revenue and building business teams.Senior leadership experience (VP/Director/Head) in business development, revenue, or growth roles.Strong understanding of payment systems, embedded finance, and financial partnerships.Strategic thinker with commercial acumen and a bias for execution in high-growth environments.Demonstrated success in building and scaling businesses from 0-1 and 1-10 in dynamic markets.
