Role SummaryThe Chief of Commercial will drive the global commercial strategy to attract, onboard, and grow international industries in first ever pioneering public-private partnership SEZ, projected to scale to a multi billion enterprise. This executive will be the principal architect of investor relations, FDI attraction, commercial partnerships, and holistic commercial planning—ensuring sustained revenue growth, sectoral diversification, and long-term zone competitiveness. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a global commercial strategy to attract priority , new energy sector investors and anchor tenants across manufacturing, logistics, technology, and new emerging sectors. Lead all revenue-generating activities—commercial negotiations, pricing strategies, business development, and market entry support—to maximize zone profitability and project value. Act as zone ambassador globally: deliver high-impact pitches, orchestrate international roadshows, and nurture senior-level networks with global enterprises, sovereign funds, and institutional partners. Build and manage a high-performance commercial team focused on investor engagement, aftercare, and cross-functional project delivery. Structure innovative PPPs, incentives, and policy frameworks to ensure best-in-class ease of doing business, FDI inflows, and multiplier effects with local ecosystem partners. Represent zone interests in negotiations with government bodies, regulatory authorities, and infrastructure partners to safeguard commercial viability and facilitate fast-track investor onboarding. Deploy best practices in SEZ and PPP management through robust commercial planning, operational risk management, and continuous improvement programs. Report to the Chairman and collaborate with C-suite for alignment of strategic investments, development masterplans, and regulatory advocacy. Ideal Candidate Profile15+ years of leadership in commercial, investment promotion, or economic zone/PPP management with global remit, blending FDI attraction, asset development, and public-private collaboration experience. Proven record of originating and closing multimillion-dollar FDI projects in a special economic zone, logistics, infrastructure, or smart city context; able to deliver high-value tenants and drive zone expansion. Advanced degree (MBA or relevant discipline) preferred, plus fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage, notably Mandarin, French, or Arabic. Demonstrated skill in commercial negotiations at sovereign, board, and C-suite level; able to represent the zone as a thought leader at global forums. Track record of building agile, multicultural teams, optimizing commercial KPIs, and instituting international best practices, incentive structuring, and FDI de-risking. Understands the unique operating environment of the gulf region , ideally with experience across the GCC, Asia, or Africa.
