Join us and take your place in space.Job SummaryThe Chief Data & Privacy Officer (CDO) is a leader responsible for driving the data strategy and ensuring the effective management, governance, and utilization of data across the organization. The CDO will lead initiatives that transform data into actionable insights to fuel innovation, optimize operations, and support overall business growth. This leader is also the Chief Privacy Officer responsible for establishing and overseeing the organization’s privacy strategy and programs. This role ensures that personal data is handled in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and best practices, while building trust with customers, employees, and partners. This role will work closely with IT, legal, compliance, and business units to implement privacy controls that support business operations and safeguard sensitive information.The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in El Segundo, CA; Chantilly, VA; or Crystal City, VA. What You’ll Be DoingData Strategy & Governance:Develop and implement an enterprise-wide data strategy that aligns with the company's vision and business objectives.Establish data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.Oversee data management practices, ensuring that data is accurate, accessible, and protected.Data Architecture & Integration:Lead the design and modernization of data architecture to facilitate seamless integration, storage, and retrieval of data.Evaluate and implement advanced analytics, business intelligence, and data warehousing solutions.Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate new data platforms and technologies effectively.Data Analytics & Insights:Champion a data-driven culture by promoting analytics best practices across the organization.Leverage data insights to identify growth opportunities, improve decision-making, and inform strategic planning.Oversee the development and deployment of machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions to drive innovation.Privacy Strategy & Governance:Develop and lead the organization’s comprehensive privacy strategy, aligning it with business objectives and regulatory requirements.Lead company-wide privacy awareness training and communications to foster a culture of responsibility and data protection.Collaborate with IT and operational teams to ensure that data storage, processing, and sharing practices meet privacy and security standards.Leadership & Collaboration:Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing data and analytics team.Foster cross-functional collaboration with business leaders to ensure data initiatives support overall business goals.Act as a key advisor to the executive team on data-related issues and opportunities.Performance Management & Optimization:Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of data programs and initiatives.Continuously identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance data operations.Manage data lifecycle processes from data capture through effective utilization.What You Need to be Successful - Principal Director, Chief Data & Privacy OfficerMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.8-10 years of relevant industry experience in data management, analytics, and governance.This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site/domesticallyDemonstrated leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams and large-scale data projects.Experience working in a complex, data-rich environment, ideally within a similar industry.Proficiency in data management technologies, data warehousing, and big data platforms.Familiarity with advanced analytics tools, machine learning frameworks, and business intelligence systems.Strong understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance standards.Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.Adaptability and a drive for continuous learning and innovation.How You Can Stand OutIt would be impressive if you have one or more of these:Masters degree in Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Information Systems/Technology or Computer Science or equivalent work or education related experienceHold multiple certifications of CISSP, CISA, CISM, CDPSE or DataSys+5 years as a previous Chief Data Officer10+ years of experience in data transformation, strategy, or technology leadership roles, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles.Proven track record of driving data innovation while maintaining a secure operating environmentExperience working in Federally regulated organizationsWe offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.
