With over 160 talented colleagues, we’re shaping the future of crypto together, are you ready to join us?About the roleThe CFO is responsible for the strategic, financial, and risk-focused leadership of Coinmerce. The role focuses on profitable, scalable growth and developing a solid financial foundation that meets the requirements of regulators, investors, and partners.The CFO works closely with the CEO and other executives, and acts as a sparring partner on financial strategy, capital structure, and risk management.The company is in a scale-up phase, focused on further European expansion, strengthening its financial structure, and preparing for the next investment round. The CFO plays a key role in professionalizing the organization and ensuring financial stability, governance, and transparency.Core ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Capital StructureDeveloping and executing the financial strategy to support Coinmerce's growth plans and MiCAR requirements.Leading future capital rounds (equity, debt, venture debt) and M&A processes.Establishing and maintaining forecasting, scenario, and treasury models.Maintaining relationships with investors, banks, auditors, and regulators.Finance, Control & ReportingUltimately responsible for all financial processes, including accounting, controlling, FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis), and treasury.Implementing scalable reporting structures (P&L, cash flow, KPI dashboards).Ensuring compliance with IFRS/NL-GAAP, audit requirements, and European financial regulations.Optimizing working capital, cash flow, and financial efficiency.Leadership & Team DevelopmentManaging a finance/risk organization of approximately 20 FTE, including accounting, FP&A, treasury, and risk.Creating a high-performance culture with clear responsibilities and growth paths.Developing leadership within the second line (controllers, head of FP&A, risk manager).Risk (MiCAR)Securing financial risks and reporting in accordance with MiCAR regulation.Ensuring adequate internal controls, risk models, and governance in line with MiCAR requirements.Working closely with the compliance function (without hierarchical management) to ensure adherence.Operational ExcellenceDigitizing and automating financial processes (ERP, BI, crypto-accounting).Improving data quality and reporting for faster and better-informed decision-making.Profile and RequirementsExperience and SkillsMinimum 10 years of experience in finance or strategy, of which at least 3 years in a CFO or VP Finance role within a scale-up or FinTech company.Strong leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary finance teams (10–20 FTE).In-depth knowledge of IFRS/NL-GAAP, multi-currency treasury management, and financial risk management.Has successfully raised capital, led M&A projects, and built strong relationships with investors.Strategic thinker with a hands-on mentality and operational execution power.Experience with supervisory structures (DNB, AFM, or comparable EU regulators) is a plus.Experience with digital currencies, blockchain, or custody structures is a plus.EducationMSc in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.Registered Accountant (RA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or comparable qualification is a plus.Personality and Leadership StyleSharp with numbers, reliable, and able to make sound decisions fast.Communicates clearly and secures buy-in from investors, auditors, and internal teams.Balances strong financial thinking with a hands-on, pragmatic, scale-up mindset.Brings structure, focus, and momentum to fast-moving environments; operates with low ego.
