Role PurposeDigitiz& is supporting one of its clients in the UAE to hire an accomplished Chief Investment Officer (CIO) who will lead the organization’s overall investment strategy, asset-management portfolio, and capital-markets activities.The CIO will oversee diversified investment platforms spanning private equity, private credit, structured finance, capital-markets instruments, and strategic project investments. The ideal candidate is a seasoned financial-services executive with deep experience in asset management, trading, investment structuring, and regulated markets.2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Investment Strategy & Leadership • Define and drive the client’s group-wide investment and asset-allocation strategy. • Oversee investment platforms across private equity, credit, capital markets, and proprietary trading. • Lead investment committee activities ensuring disciplined, risk-adjusted decisions and transparent reporting. • Advise senior leadership on market trends, portfolio diversification, and capital deployment. • Build a high-performance investment culture with strong analytical and governance standards.B. Asset Management & Portfolio Oversight • Manage diversified proprietary and managed portfolios across multiple asset classes. • Drive performance across equities, fixed income, private credit, and structured products. • Monitor KPIs, benchmarks, and regulatory compliance standards (aligned with ADGM). • Supervise investment-dealing and trading operations with strong internal controls.C. Deal Origination, Structuring & Execution • Source, evaluate, and execute deals across private equity, debt, and hybrid structures. • Structure transactions aligned with strategic objectives and risk appetite. • Lead due diligence, negotiations, and execution of cross-border transactions. • Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, advisors, and regulators.D. Capital Markets & Fundraising • Lead activities across Debt Capital Markets (DCM), including bond issuances and structured debt products. • Manage Equity Capital Markets (ECM) initiatives such as listings, IPO engagement, and secondary-market strategies. • Oversee fundraising activities for the client’s funds and investment projects. • Grow relationships with institutional investors, family offices, and strategic partners.E. Risk, Compliance & Governance • Ensure compliance with ADGM regulations and international financial standards. • Strengthen investment-risk frameworks, trading policies, and governance mechanisms. • Oversee valuation, reporting, and internal-control environments. • Coordinate with regulators, internal committees, and external auditors.F. Leadership & Team Development • Build and mentor cross-functional investment, trading, and portfolio teams. • Promote a culture of performance, accountability, and collaboration. • Ensure strong succession planning and leadership development. • Foster cooperation between investment, finance, legal, and strategy functions.3. Key CompetenciesInvestment & Financial Expertise • Strong command of asset management and portfolio construction. • Proven track record in private equity, private credit, DCM, ECM, and structured finance. • Deep understanding of macroeconomics, market analysis, and financial modeling. • Experience with fund structuring, governance, and investor-reporting frameworks.Strategic & Analytical Leadership • Exceptional analytical and commercial judgment. • Ability to identify cross-market opportunities and drive returns. • Demonstrated success managing multi-asset portfolios.Stakeholder & Regulatory Management • Strong relationships with banks, regulators, and institutional investors. • Ability to communicate effectively at board and investor levels. • Experience within ADGM/DIFC or internationally regulated environments.4. Qualifications & ExperienceEssential: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field (Master’s/CFA preferred). • 15+ years of experience across investment management, private equity, or capital markets. • Proven experience managing multi-asset portfolios and complex cross-border transactions. • Previous leadership experience in a regulated financial-services environment.5.
