Its operations span pulp and paper, palm oil, viscose fiber, and energy sectors.The specific subsidiary we are representing focuses on energy resource development, particularly in natural gas and LNG.About The RoleWe are seeking a world-class operational leader to join our Energy Business as COO. Reporting to the President, you will provide hands-on, strategic leadership across our global portfolio in North America and China, driving operational excellence, major project delivery, and high-performance culture.What You’ll Do:Lead Operations Across the Portfolio: Oversee upstream E&P in Canada, the Woodfibre LNG (WLNG) project from construction to steady-state operations, and downstream assets in China, including LNG terminals and power plants.Deliver Major Projects: Ensure the successful construction, commissioning, and startup of WLNG Phase 1 — on time, on budget, and to specification.Drive Performance & Culture: Establish KPIs, optimize operational efficiency, instill discipline, and foster a hands-on, high-performance team culture.Strategic Partnership: Act as a trusted operational partner to the President, contributing expertise to complement commercial and strategic decision-making.Stakeholder Leadership: Represent the company with partners, regulators, and local communities in Canada, China, and globally.What We’re Looking For:Experience: 20+ years leading integrated energy assets with LNG plant operations and large-scale project execution (liquefaction preferred). Upstream E&P experience is a plus.Global Exposure: Direct experience in Canada/North America; familiarity with China’s energy market a strong advantage.Leadership Style: Hands-on, decisive, entrepreneurial, and results-driven. Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and complex projects.Skills & Attributes: Exceptional communication, cross-cultural adaptability (Mandarin a plus), strategic mindset, and a strong sense of urgency.Education: Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
