Who We AreBy joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.This purposeful project will not only give you the opportunity to have an impact on one of the key topics within the European Union, it will also offer you various professional opportunities, let you experience a collaborative environment, using cutting-edge technologies and experiencing diversity in your everyday professional life.What You’ll Be DoingResponsible for all aspects of IT security within the framework contract.Lead the development and execution of the overall IT security strategy.Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all information and IT systems managed by the contractor.Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards aligned with industry best practices and contractual obligations.Oversee risk assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response planning.Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual security requirements.Monitor emerging threats and implement proactive mitigation strategies.Oversee investigations of security breaches and ensure timely resolution and reporting.Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure secure system architecture and data protection.Provide regular security updates and reports to senior management.Manage and mentor a team of security professionals, fostering a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement.What You’ll Bring AlongBachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.Minimum 10 years of experience in information security.An advanced degree such as a Master’s in Cybersecurity, MBA with a focus on Information Security, or equivalent.A professional certification in CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager).Proven experience managing security for large-scale IT projects.Strong background in risk management, incident response, and regulatory compliance.Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex security programs.Experience with EU framework contracts or similar public sector environments.Familiarity with standards such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, and GDPR.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in high-pressure environments.Excellent command of both spoken and written English (any other European language would be a plus).
