Job Description

Minimum QualificationsB-Tech Survey / BSc / NHD MRM, GDE and a Mine Surveyor’s Certificate of Competence.RequirementsBe declared medically fit to function in the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at a relevant Sibanye-Stillwater OccupationalHave a Clear security screening record. Be a Systems / holistic thinker with Cross-discipline integration.Be able to visualise and conceptualise 3D drawings and layouts.Have skills to gather, integrate, interpret and model, present and represent data.Sound understanding of relevant legislation (Mine Health and Safety Act, Mining Act, Minerals & Petroleum Act).Have in-depth understanding of Survey methodology, equipment and instruments.Demonstrate advanced understanding of project management. Be proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Office and SAP) and have advanced computer skills in MineCAD, Micro Station and CADSMineHave extensive experience in mining, specifically ore definition, reconciliation, extraction and mine surveying.Have at least 10 years’ experience in surveying within a metalliferous mining environment, of which 5 years should have been in a management role.Hold SAGC Registration as a Professional Mine Surveyor and or registered as a member of the Institute of Mine Surveyors of South Africa (IMSSA).Be in possession of B-Tech Survey / BSc / NHD MRM, GDE and a Mine Surveyor’s Certificate of Competence Key ResponsibilitiesHolding a legal appointment in terms of section 17.2 of the MHSA.Effectively manage the survey function by coordinating survey activities and available resources to maximise ore extraction as well as utilise best practice methods. Focus on safety and health as well as operational excellence.Setting and approving budgeting parameters for Central Services in line with business requirements and financial objectivesMaintain and comply with SHE standards within the work environment and ensure adherence to all company policies and proceduresEnsure that surface plans are updated and complied with the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources requirements and standards within the shaft boundary.Ensure that Succession Planning is aligned with the organisational strategy.Determine current skills gaps and critical roles within the organisation. Determine discipline specific training requirements in collaboration with the Section and Functional Heads to ensure the relevancy and significance of formal training provided.Review current standards, policies and procedures and ensure that it support effective execution of Survey plans and are aligned with legislative requirements.Ensure that Survey strategic plans and operations are integrated and aligned with the MTS strategy.Comply with Survey standards, plans, practices and systems through Investigate, understand and defined nature of the business, specifically with the Survey discipline as key differentiator.Ensuring plans and systems are regularly audited to determine their effectiveness and applicability, and to ensure compliance against defined standards.Fault-finding by conducting regularly informal reviews to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities to improve business performance.Trend analysis by managing risks through constant monitoring of the processes of data acquisition, database management and data interpretationCollate and deliver strategic reports to provide MTS with a monthly review of the Mine’s achieved extraction.Benchmarking by continuously reviewing best-in-class technical services and new methodologies, practices and technologies.Focusing on technical and strategic support by ensuring understanding of Survey requirements at all levels within the business
