Chief Technology Officer

Role Description We’re looking for a systems-driven CTO–Cofounder to define and own the technical vision behind Ledge, the programmable compliance infrastructure built for secure, interoperable, and high-assurance digital trust.In this role, you will architect the platform’s control plane, evidence layer, credential flows, and interoperability fabric, ensuring strong security guarantees, federated data models, and seamless integration across institutions and jurisdictions. You will translate regulatory requirements into sound, scalable technical architectures, design for resilience and long-term durability, and establish the engineering standards and frameworks that will shape Ledge’s evolution.As part of the founding team, you’ll collaborate closely with product, regulatory partners, and executive leadership to ensure Ledge becomes the trust layer relied on by institutions globally.Qualifications Technical ExpertiseStrong experience in distributed systems & scalable architecture (multi-tenant SaaS, event-driven systems).Knowledge of identity, security, or trust frameworks (OAuth2, OIDC, digital signatures, verifiable credentials).Proficiency in cloud-native engineering (Kubernetes, IaC, modern CI/CD).Ability to design secure, high-integrity data flows, including auditability, traceability, and regulated environments.Familiarity with federated or interoperable systems, digital identity, or compliance infrastructure (bonus).Strategic & Leadership SkillsStrong critical thinking and first-principles reasoning, able to simplify complex requirements into technical direction.Ability to define and execute technology strategy aligned with product, regulatory, and business goals.Experience leading early-stage product development, from architecture to MVP.Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and scale technical teams.Clear communicator who can bridge engineering, product, regulatory, and executive conversations.Preferred Background (Nice-to-Have)Experience in identity, fintech infrastructure, security engineering, or digital public infrastructure.Work with compliance-heavy environments (KYC/KYB/AML, DPI, high-trust systems).Previous role in a startup or technical founding team.EducationBachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).Advanced technical certifications in cloud, security, or architecture are a plus, but not required.
