The PositionUnder direct supervision, on an intermittent basis, performs a variety of semi-skilled or unskilled tasks in the maintenance and servicing of City streets, sewers, beaches, parks, trees, facilities, and equipment; performs related duties as required.
The position is an entry level temporary position supporting the City’s Public Works Department by performing routine semi-skilled or unskilled maintenance and repair tasks in and around the City. Most assignments are performed without detailed instructions as to specific procedures to be followed. The Temporary Maintenance Worker I position is a FLSA non-exempt, hourly position and limited to 1000 hours per fiscal year. No benefits are associated with this position. Temporary Maintenance Worker I Availability RequirementsTraining period work hours: 7: 00 a. m. to 3: 30 p. m. Monday - Friday Regular work hours (after training period): 7: 00 a. m. to 3: 30 p. m.
Friday - Tuesday (off on Wednesdays and Thursdays)Availability to work Saturdays and Sundays after initial training period. The Maintenance Worker I position is a temporary position, and hours worked may not exceed 1000 hours per fiscal year. Position does not offer benefits.
