We are partnering with a pioneering player in the energy storage and grid infrastructure sector, supporting their search for an experienced Civil Engineer / Construction Manager to take a leading role in delivering grid-scale battery storage projects across Germany.This organisation is at the forefront of the energy transition, developing large-scale battery storage systems that stabilise the power grid, enhance flexibility, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. The role offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of civil engineering, renewable energy, and project leadership, shaping a key part of Germany’s future energy infrastructure.The OpportunityReporting to the Head of Project Delivery, you’ll take end-to-end responsibility for the construction oversight and project coordination of grid-scale energy storage sites (5–100 MW). You’ll manage all construction activities – from design review and tendering through to commissioning – ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as client representative on large-scale battery storage construction sitesLead and supervise all construction phases through to commissioningCoordinate all trades, with a focus on civil and structural worksOversee audits, cost control, and contractor payments (VOB/BGB)Manage inspections and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standardsSupport planning and permitting processes (BauGB, BImSchG, EnWG)Evaluate technical submissions and tender documentationLiaise with external planners, engineers, and authoritiesCandidate ProfileDegree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Engineering or equivalentProven experience in construction management or project control, ideally in energy, utilities, or infrastructureSound knowledge of German construction and contract law (VOB/A, VOB/B, BGB)Experience with permitting and regulatory processes in GermanySkilled in project scheduling and coordinationStrong communication and negotiation skills with external stakeholdersFluent German and very good EnglishA background in electrical or energy storage projects would be an advantage, as would SiGeKo certification.What’s on OfferA high-impact role within one of Germany’s most forward-thinking energy technology companiesThe autonomy to shape key infrastructure projects that directly support the energy transitionFlat hierarchies and short decision paths within a dynamic, collaborative teamFlexible working hours, hybrid work model, and 30 days’ annual leaveHealth & lifestyle benefits including sports partnerships and public transport subsidiesIf you’re a civil engineering professional looking to apply your expertise to the next generation of energy infrastructure, we’d welcome a confidential discussion.
