Job Title: Site Civil EngineerDepartment: Construction / Project Execution Reports To: Construction Manager / Project Manager Employment Type: Full-TimeOur client is a well-established holding company with diversified business interests in manufacturing and distribution of tobacco products across the region. As part of their strategic growth, the group is expanding into a new Construction Division.Position Overview: The Site Civil Engineer is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and ensuring the quality execution of all civil and structural construction works at project sites. This role ensures that all activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved design documents, technical specifications, schedules, and local authority standards. The engineer will support the Construction Manager in managing site operations, quality control, technical coordination, and overall progress to achieve timely and compliant project delivery.Key Responsibilities:1. Site Supervision & Technical ControlSupervise and monitor civil construction activities, including earthworks, concrete, masonry, finishing, and external infrastructure works.Ensure accuracy of setting-out, levels, and alignment as per approved drawings.Verify compliance of all works with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.Conduct site inspections, identify non-conformities, and ensure timely corrective actions.Participate in inspections of concealed works with QA/QC teams and consultants.2. Coordination & CommunicationCoordinate daily operations with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal departments (QA/QC, HSE, MEP, Planning, Procurement).Support daily and weekly site coordination meetings with the Construction Manager.Liaise with consultants and authorities for inspections, clarifications, and approvals.Provide regular updates on progress, manpower, materials, and technical issues4. Progress Monitoring & PlanningContribute to the preparation of short-term look-ahead schedules for civil works.Monitor progress, identify delays or bottlenecks, and propose recovery actions.Coordinate with Planning and Procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.Support the Construction Manager in progress reporting and subcontractor claim verification5. Safety & ComplianceEnsure site activities comply with approved HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements.Enforce safety practices, PPE use, and environmental protection measures.Participate in toolbox talks and safety inspections; report and address unsafe conditions6. Team Leadership & Site AdministrationSupervise and mentor junior engineers, supervisors, foremen, and surveyors.Assign daily work tasks, monitor progress, and verify completion.Evaluate subcontractor manpower, equipment utilization, and performance.Maintain daily site records for manpower, equipment, and work progressQualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction Engineering from a recognized university.Degree equivalency certificate from UAE Ministry of Education (if applicable).Registered with the UAE Society of Engineers (mandatory).Minimum 10 years’ experience in civil and structural site supervision, including at least 5 years in Abu Dhabi.Minimum 3 years’ experience within a General Contracting company.Strong knowledge of UAE Building Codes, ADM, Civil Defense, KEZAD, and Estidama regulations.Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Project (Revit/BIM knowledge is an advantage).Excellent communication and reporting skills in English; Arabic language is an advantage
