On some projects they may perform a role of project leader and on others work more significantly under the direction of a Project Manager to develop design concepts which are incorporated into the final product by a project team. The candidate will play a key role in mentoring new team members, organizing workload, and ensuring project milestones are achieved.Duties and Responsibilities:Effectively coordinate assigned projects through the municipal design approval process as the Engineer-of-Record for the projectDirect involvement with the detailed engineering design process, guidance of technical support staff as needed to ensure completion of the design objectives, approvals, and documentsExercise judgment on the appropriateness of engineering requirements identified by municipal jurisdictionsAttend meetings with clients, contractors and municipal staff and make notes and records of the outcomes of these meetings for project record purposesMeet project milestone events in accordance with client and municipal deadlinesTrack project progress and obtain authorizations/approvals for changes in schedule/scopeResolve more complex issues during both design and construction phasesContract Administration and ManagementResponsible for the fundamental aspects of project management of assigned projects including budget tracking and invoicingProvides mentorship and evaluation of junior staffSkills and Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of experience in design of land development or capital works projectsRegistered as a P.Eng. within the province of workValid Driver’s LicenseAbility to work simultaneously on several different projectsConsistently able to produce accurate, high-quality workExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsExperienced and knowledgeable of technical design issues, constructability, cost, and design approvalsExperienced and knowledgeable of tender preparation with construction administration experience preferredCompensationThe salary range for this position is $107,000 to $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience, skillsets, and qualifications.Benefits & RewardsComprehensive health benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, an employee assistance program, life insurance, AD&D and LTDEducation assistance programMonthly health & fitness allowanceGroup RRSP program & employer matchingFlexible working arrangementsEqual opportunities for career growth and advancement within the organizationFun social, team building events and professional development activitiesA Culture that supports learning, collaboration, and work-life balanceAplin Martin is committed to fostering a supportive, diverse, and inclusive work environment where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work.
