This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. A Project Manager is the principal project administrator and communications link between the firm and:The ClientSub-consultantsLocal, Provincial, and Federal Regulatory agenciesPublic Authorities, andThe General Construction ContractorIn some cases, a Project Manager will report directly to the Branch Manager, and in other cases they will report directly to a Senior Project Manager.Duties And ResponsibilitiesBe completely versed in the firm‐client contract for the project, and of the client's objectives. Satisfy client's goalsResponsible for the entire project life cycle, from preliminary services through project implementationManage all aspects associated with client relationship management and project service delivery. Ultimately responsible for ensuring the civil drawings and specifications meet established project criteria, applicable standards, and schedule objectivesManage and maintain a portfolio $600K - $2.0 million repeat and new sales annual revenueEstablish documentation and administrative organization for the projectAnalyze the project scope, the client's RFP and firm's proposal with all internal and external Project Team members. Organize the work on the project and set forth the procedures to be employed in accomplishing the projectBe the primary point-of contact for all incoming and outgoing project information. Ensure proper distribution of project information to all project team members and sub-consultantsAttend project meetings, as necessaryProvide leadership and help support all employees within the teamWork closely with the Senior Project Manager (if applicable) to provide input on career path development and associated goals to achieve that development for all employees within the teamPreparation of reports, proposals, and tender/bid submissions, budgets, project plans, and other supporting documentation, as requiredReview project costs and prepare monthly billings, ensuring that invoices are sent to the Client in a timely manner (typically within 30 days of the end of the work period)Administer and oversee the project budgetAdminister and oversee the preparation of 3-month forecasting of work projectionsProactively notify the Client of changes in project scope and prepare estimates for additional design feesContract for the services of outside consultants when requiredAssign Billers to some projects and provide training to new Billers on invoicing proceduresFollow-up with clients on proposals, invoices and tracking of Accounts ReceivableKeep the Client, Branch Manager, and the Accounting Department informed on the status of the projectDevelop and monitor the Client's construction budget and schedule. Identify long lead items and proposed form of construction contractParticipate in business development activities including new business opportunities, prospect contact identification and solicitation of new clientsAttendance at recognized industry events to promote services provided by the company and to attract new clientsAny other duties, as assignedSkills and Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of experience within the civil engineering field barring special exemption as granted.
