Position Summary:The Claims Litigation Specialist is responsible for managing complex litigated and non-litigated insurance claims across commercial and personal lines, including auto, property, and bodily injury. This role requires a strong commitment to resolving challenging claims efficiently and fairly while delivering superior service to policyholders and stakeholders. The specialist will manage cases through final resolution, including oversight of defense counsel, while adhering to the organization’s Leading Practices and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities:Manage a multi-state caseload of complex losses with professionalism, leveraging extensive industry experience.Oversee the litigation process from inception to resolution, ensuring effective use of defense counsel and experts.Deliver hands-on claim handling, demonstrating ownership, accountability, and a customer-first approach.Ensure timely communication with policyholders, internal teams, and external business partners.Develop customized claim strategies and action plans with minimal supervision.Control and manage allocated expenses in accordance with claim needs and company guidelines.Apply strong evaluation, negotiation, and settlement strategies to resolve claims in a fair and cost-effective manner.Maintain thorough claim documentation and regularly update leadership on case progress.Recognize and mitigate potential fraud or claims leakage.Interpret policies and conduct detailed coverage analysis, including legal and jurisdictional considerations.Attend mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials as required.Partner with underwriting, product, legal, pricing, IT, and other departments to ensure claims alignment with company goals.Qualifications:Skills & Experience:Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing complex claims at an insurance carrier.Proven expertise in handling claims in Texas, including policy limit demands.Prior experience directing and working with defense counsel is preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on negotiation and conflict resolution.Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate large volumes of information and apply legal/policy knowledge effectively.Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while recognizing emerging claim trends and issues.Education:Bachelor’s degree required.Juris Doctor (J.D.) required.Licensing & Certification:Must obtain all necessary federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time frame designated by the company.Additional licensing may be required for new products or service offerings.Failure to obtain required credentials within the specified time may result in disqualification from the role.
