Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform cleaning duties in accommodation rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation at all times. Sweep, mop, dust, and polish floors, furniture, and fixtures following established procedures. Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces and maintain hygiene standards in compliance with ISO and HACCP guidelines. Collect and dispose of trash and waste materials in designated areas, ensuring proper waste segregation. Operate laundry equipment, including washing machines, dryers, and ironing machines, efficiently and safely. Sort, wash, dry, fold, and pack clean linen and uniforms in an organized manner. Inspect linen for stains, tears, and defects before washing; report damaged items to the supervisor. Maintain and monitor the supply of clean linen and cleaning materials; report shortages promptly. Ensure optimal use of detergents, chemicals, and cleaning agents according to safety guidelines. Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and guests, ensuring timely delivery of laundry and cleaning services. Follow all health, safety, and environmental standards; report hazards, incidents, and near misses immediately. Report health & safety, environmental, and food safety hazards and near miss/incident observed in the workplace to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. To follow, apply and maintain all applicable ISO standards and requirements. REGULAR INTERNAL CONTACTS:Employees within the accommodation facilities. REGULAR EXTERNAL CONTACTS:Guests staying in the accommodation. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:High School or school leaving certificateYEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE WITH MINIMUM EDUCATION REQ'T:1 year work experience in industrial cleaning and/or laundry operationsSYSTEMS/ EQUIPMENT OPERATION KNOWLEDGE:Good knowledge of cleaning equipment (vacuum cleaners, floor polishers) and industrial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, ironing units) and their operation. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/ PROFESSIONAL TRAINING REQUIRED:Basic health and safety knowledge, HACCP awareness for hygiene complianceOTHER REQUIREMENTS:Physiologically fit to work in remote site locationsCan lift without aid 25kgsBasic English language skillsAdvantage if knowledgeable of country languageAbility to work with minimal supervisionCOMPETENCIES:Interpersonal skillsTime ManagementCommunicationPlanning & OrganizingAttention to detailCustomer Service Orientation
