The acuity of the patients is diverse across these specialities and includes patients who require invasive diagnostic procedures, non-invasive ventilation therapy, high flow oxygen therapy and tracheostomy management. The nursing team is supported by a Clinical Nurse Consultant, a Clinical Nurse Educator and the Nurse Unit Manager. We advocate for shared decision-making, collaborative relationships, compassionate and person-centred leadership, with supporting innovative practices.The Respiratory Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides clinical leadership and expert respiratory care and clinical advice to patients, carers and health care professionals in relation to complex care needs. Working in partnership with the multidisciplinary team and primary care providers, the CNC ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.As a clinical expert and resource for staff, the CNC demonstrates advanced skills and expertise in health assessments, care pathways, advance care planning and on-going symptom management. The CNC ensures the highest standard of care, support and education for respiratory patients at The Sutherland Hospital, providing high-level nursing consultancy and coordinating care with the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes and recovery. Up to $9K for living expenses and $2.6K meal & entertainment & Novated Leasing.Discounted gym memberships with a Fitness Passport.Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and family members.Discounted Private Health Insurance.Selection CriteriaClinical Nurse Consultants are employed as Grade 2 according to the criteria outlined below, and in line with the NSW Public Health System Nurses' and Midwives' (State) Award.Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and current NSW Drivers License (if required by service).Minimum five years full time equivalent post qualification experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field and post graduate qualifications relevant to the field of practice.Demonstrated ability to apply clinical expertise in a consultancy role and the ability to work independentlyProven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practiceDemonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidenced based nursing careDemonstrated experience in leading and implementing change, and developing direction in clinical practice by initiation, utilisation, review and translation of evidenced-based research into practice, within a person-centred frameworkDemonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills and use of software programs to analyse data and produce reportsDemonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning Need More Information?
