This pivotal role demands a visionary scientist capable of owning the entire lifecycle of clinical studies, from the conceptualization of groundbreaking research questions to the final dissemination of results. This position is perfect for someone who thrives on scientific discovery, strategic thinking, and end-to-end project ownership within a fast-paced, innovative environment.Key Job AccountabilitiesAs a Clinical Scientist, your responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of clinical study management:Strategic Research Question Formulation:Proactively identify gaps in scientific understanding and market needs to conceive and formulate novel, impactful clinical research questions that align with L'Oréal's strategic innovation pillars.Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and competitive intelligence to inform and justify new research directions.Develop compelling scientific rationales and hypotheses for new clinical investigations.End-to-End Clinical Study Design & Protocol Development:Design robust, ethical, and scientifically sound clinical study protocols, including defining study objectives, methodologies, subject inclusion/exclusion criteria, endpoints, and statistical analysis plans.Select appropriate instrumental and clinical methodologies to accurately capture desired outcomes.Ensure all study designs comply with relevant regulatory requirements and L'Oréal's internal quality standards.Study Execution & Oversight:Lead and manage all operational aspects of clinical studies, including vendor selection and management (e.g., CROs, testing facilities), budget oversight, and timeline adherence.Oversee subject recruitment, data collection, and ensure adherence to protocol and quality standards throughout study conduct.Proactively identify and mitigate risks, troubleshoot operational challenges, and implement corrective actions.Serve as the primary scientific point of contact for all study-related matters, internally and with external partners.Data Analysis & Interpretation:Collaborate closely with biostatisticians to ensure appropriate statistical analysis of clinical data.Independently analyze, interpret, and synthesize complex clinical and instrumental data to derive meaningful scientific conclusions.Present findings clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, from technical experts to senior leadership.Reporting & Dissemination:Author comprehensive clinical study reports, scientific publications, and internal technical documents.Contribute to the development of product claims and regulatory dossiers based on robust clinical evidence.Actively participate in scientific conferences, workshops, and internal knowledge-sharing forums.Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance:Stay abreast of new scientific advancements, clinical methodologies, and regulatory changes in the cosmetic and related industries.Contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical operations, processes, and best practices within L'Oréal R&I.Champion ethical conduct and data integrity across all research activities.Technical & Professional Competencies RequiredExceptional Scientific Acumen: Deep understanding of clinical research principles, experimental design, and statistical methodologies.Independent Thinking & Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to independently conceptualize, plan, and execute complex scientific projects, navigating challenges with innovative solutions.Strong Leadership & Project Management: Proven experience in leading and managing projects from inception to completion, with a track record of meeting deadlines and managing resources effectively.Excellent Communication & Presentation Skills: Ability to articulate complex scientific concepts clearly and persuasively, both orally and in writing, to diverse audiences.Meticulous Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of study design, execution, and reporting.Regulatory & Ethical Understanding: In-depth knowledge of GCP, ethical guidelines, and relevant regulatory requirements for clinical research, particularly in the cosmetic or healthcare sector.Collaboration & Influence: Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, external partners, and influence scientific direction.Proficiency in data analysis software and scientific tools.Education & ExperienceRequired: MSc/PhD in a relevant scientific discipline such as Clinical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, or a closely related field.Required: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in clinical research, with significant experience managing studies from conception through publication, ideally within the cosmetic, dermatological, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries.Demonstrated experience in independently formulating research questions and designing complex clinical protocols.Strong publication record and experience presenting at scientific conferences preferred.Experience with instrumental and biophysical measurements relevant to skin and hair science is a strong asset.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and take pride in a diverse environment.
