Help Heart & Stroke build out its Azure cloud, strengthen observability, and introduce AI driven operations across data and digital platforms.As a Cloud & AI Operations Engineer, you’ll work hands-on to design, automate, and optimize our Azure cloud infrastructure: supporting both digital products and data platforms. You’ll implement Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD automation, observability, and AIOps capabilities under the leadership of the Senior Manager, Cloud Infrastructure & AI Operations. Your work will ensure our platforms are reliable, secure, and data-ready for innovation.With the flexibility to work from anywhere in Canada, you’ll work on high-impact cloud platforms that enable Heart & Stroke’s fundraising, engagement, and research efforts: helping Canadians live longer, healthier lives. Here, engineers are empowered to innovate, automate, and build the backbone of a modern digital charity.If you thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional environment and are passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technology to make a real difference, we want to hear from you!How You Will Make An Impact Every DayCloud Engineering & OperationsDesign, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure for web, mobile, and data analytics environmentsEnsure scalability, resilience, cost efficiency, and compliance (PCI, PHIPA)Support incident response and disaster recovery designPartner across data and application teams to integrate infrastructure with business solutionsAutomation & DevOpsImplement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM templatesEnhance CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning and code deploymentAutomate operational workflows and optimize resource utilizationObservability, Monitoring & Data OperationsConfigure and evolve Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application InsightsBuild unified dashboards and alerts to drive proactive performance managementSupport administration and the build out of our independent data platform (Azure SQL, Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, backups, performance tuning)Implement telemetry and tracing that connect infrastructure to application and data insightsAI Operations & Continuous ImprovementContribute to AIOps initiatives for predictive monitoring and anomaly detectionCollaborate with cross-functional teams to pilot and scale AI-driven reliabilityDocument playbooks and standards to improve repeatability and learningWho we need7+ years in infrastructure engineering, with 3+ in Azure cloud environmentsStrong experience in automation (Terraform/Bicep), observability, and database operationsExperience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure for digital product and data workloadsWorking knowledge of data lakehouse technologies (Databricks, Synapse, Azure data factory) and eagerness to elevate your skillsWorking knowledge of AIOps concepts and eagerness to apply AI/ML to operationsClear, collaborative communicator comfortable in distributed teamsBonus: Azure certifications (AZ-305, AZ-400) and exposure to modern APM or AI monitoring toolsWhat We OfferAt Heart & Stroke, we make it a priority to foster a culture of caring, high performance and flexibility by implementing practices and programs that foster respect, compassion, trust and attentiveness to our own and others’ health and well-being.In addition to a competitive salary, we believe that time off is integral to the personal health and wellness of our employees.
