We have an opportunity with our client for an experienced Commercial Lead to oversee tendering and business development activities across multiple growth opportunities. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead the pre-contracts process from tender receipt through to negotiation and contract handover, working closely with internal stakeholders including the CEO, COO, Operations Managers, and technical experts. The role also involves direct engagement with client procurement and technical teams to ensure successful commercial outcomes.What's in it for you:Permanent full-time role with flexible working arrangements;Exposure to diverse aspects of a growing business financial operations;Career development opportunities and ongoing training support;Convenient Welshpool office location with onsite parkingWork alongside a supportive and approachable leadership team that values and rewards high-performing individuals.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with senior operational leaders and the CEO to align commercial strategies with client needs in tender submissions;Manage the end-to-end tender process, ensuring timely submission and clear articulation of win themes;Prepare and review tender documents including estimates, proposals, presentations, and returnable schedules;Develop business development presentations and marketing materials to support growth initiatives;Lead pricing and cost modelling for new business opportunities and tenders;Support operational finance with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly progress claims;Review commercial terms in contracts and liaise with legal specialists as needed;Coordinate tender clarifications and negotiations across technical, commercial, and contractual areas;Build and maintain strong relationships with external clients and internal stakeholders;Lead internal governance reviews by providing commercial, financial, and operational analysis; andOversee the handover of awarded tenders to ensure smooth project start-up and alignment with contractual obligations.To be successful in this role, you will bring:A postgraduate qualification in Commerce, Finance, Law, or Engineering;A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a comparable role;Solid experience within the mining or resources industry, particularly in commercial, business development, or tendering functions;A proven background in large capital projects, with strong analytical capabilities;Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, project economics, and reviewing financial KPIs;Experience in leading and managing pre-contract activities across technical, commercial and contractual workstreams;High commercial and business acumen, with the ability to challenge existing processes and drive improvements;Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders effectively;Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with operational teams and key stakeholders;A sound understanding of estimation methodologies, cost component analysis, bid evaluations, and risk assessment; andExceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy.About the Client?They're building something different.
