Job Description

Title: Commercial Project Portfolio Manager Location: Hershey, PAPay Level: 2BThis position will be posted internally until the close of business on 11/20/2025Summary:Strategic leader of business-critical product portfolio initiatives and portfolio reviews by partnering with various cross-functional groups to support business priorities.Responsibilities:Leads commercial portfolio reviews for the respective business owner (VP/Sr Dir/Dir), in partnership with the portfolio operations team. Provides expert analysis, mines insights, and recommends actions while delivering forward-looking project portfolio visibility and viability, financial assessment, and capacity indicators to drive prioritization and business decisions .Controls Stage-Gate process design across Types and Tiers for the respective business portfolio and owns one or more initiatives to continuously improve the Stage-Gate process by identifying enhancements to deliverables, the Accolade system, and/or project portfolio management tools.Provides critical leadership role in ensuring the successful development and execution of projects for the commercialization of new and changing products/pack types, actively leading timelines, defining scope, managing resources, holding functions responsible for deliverables, and owning the budget.Accountable to deliver profitability and operational success by problem solving, removing roadblocks, elevating risks/issues, developing risk mitigation plans/contingencies, and facilitating decision making to drive projects forward through the stage gate process.Project management process expert - owns project execution and adherence to stage gate processes from project initiation (confirming correct project type & tier) through 1st delivery to the customer.May manage one or more direct reports.Core Competencies:Strategic portfolio and project management experience (e.g. Conducted portfolio analysis, Managed complex projects with multiple cross-functional team members…)Strong overall business management understanding Strong resource management and planningExceptional organizational skillsProcess excellence and orientationNegotiation and influenceDrives objective decision-makingStrong skills in managing multiple prioritiesCollaboration and teamworkStrong oral and written communication skillsSAP experienceIntermediate to expert level Microsoft Project skillsExcellent problem-solving skills, the ability to make timely/sound decisions, and implement agreed upon solutionsAbility to work under pressure and be comfortable taking ownership of leading a team towards a quick resolutionQualifications:Bachelor's Degree required. MBA/Graduate Degree Preferred.5-8+ years of related work experience, preferably in CPG - Product Lifecycle ManagementPMP Certified preferred Lean Six Sigma preferred
