Role OverviewThe FinTech business unit at Booking.com aims at removing financial friction from the travel experience for both travelers and our accommodation partners.The Commercial Strategy team within FinTech is supporting that ambition by driving new financial products that reduce such financial frictions from an initial idea to go-live and incubation.This role includes the following responsibilities:Identifying, shaping and bringing to life new financial products Enabling strategic decision making across FinTech Driving the development of new capabilities where needed Supporting commercial optimization with insights & advice You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate the product from ideation, to investment case approval, development launch and eventual running the incubation of products once they are live - until they reach a scale big enough to hand over fully to the Product team.The role plays on the intersection between financial services and tech, such that experience across both those domains is a big plus. And most of all: a team player who is willing to guide, help and support the team?Then you might be a good fit for our team!Key Job Responsibilities And DutiesThink customer first in identifying opportunities for new products and how we can best enhance our customer experience (bookers and partners)Apply a solid understanding of the financial services / payments landscape, including implications / opportunities for Booking.com Build business cases and opportunity-sizing that are supported by both internal and external data Project manage internal and external stakeholders during the implementation and growth phase of new Fintech productsApply a Product mindset in identifying opportunities and areas of improvement of Fintech products in their incubation, growth phaseGain understanding of the complexity & ambiguity of a topic, and apply structure to convey it in a simple manner Enable strategic decision making with crisp & clear communication on data driven insights and recommendations Be a key contributor to the team, working in close alignment with senior leaders in the team, but also with other teams across FinTech and beyond Be familiar with the larger ecosystem at Booking and how other business units and functions relate to the work they doCollaborates and is open to giving and receiving feedback with peers and direct stakeholders.Role Qualifications And Requirements7-10 years of experience within strategy consulting roles, mostly within the financial services and/or payments industrySolid expertise (3+ years experience) in financial services and / or payments Experience in either strategy consulting or strategic role in Tech Experience in managing individual contributors is preferredStrong project and stakeholder management skillsExcellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills Business case creation and refinement Ability to explain difficult concepts in simplified terms Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skillsAbility to work with ambiguity in fast changing environmentTotal Reward PhilosophyThe benefits and perks offered by the company can be found hereDiversity, Equity and Inclusion at Booking.comTake it from our Chief People Officer, Paulo Pisano: “At Booking.com, the diversity of our people doesn’t just create a unique workplace, it also creates a better and more inclusive travel experience for everyone.
