We foster a culture of civility by raising awareness, setting clear expectations, and continually reviewing our policies and practices to ensure respect is at the core of everything we do.Position SummaryReporting to the Manager of Communications and Public Affairs, this new part-time, contract position will assist in the day-to-day execution of communication tactics as related to the Emergency Department (ED) Project, and will work alongside the Communications Lead, Redevelopment and Capital Projects, and in collaboration with the Redevelopment Department and ED clinical leadership teams. This position is responsible for using a diverse range of communication tactics, such as social media and website management, memos, newsletters, and multi-media content creation (photography, videography, graphic design, and layout design), to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.Primary ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development of corporate communications plans in support of the ED ProjectDraft copy for memos, wayfinding maps, media releases, social media and website contentWork with Communications, Redevelopment, ED clinical leadership teams, and hospital committees to plan, develop, and execute wayfinding and signage activities for ED areasAddress any temporary signage or wayfinding needs related to ED areasStrong experience with Canva or similar design program is an assetAssist in photography and videography of ED project spaces for content creation and archival purposes Strong experience with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premier Pro is an assetUtilize BCHS social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube) to share progress updates related to the ED Project (i.e. milestones, public notice of construction impacts, good news stories, etc.)Strong experience with social media channels and measurement program(s) is an asset (e.g., Meltwater, Hootsuite)Utilize Reimagine BCHS website to share progress updates related to the ED Project Experience managing content management systems such as WordPress is an assetMandatory QualificationsMust possess a 2-year College Diploma or a 3- year University Degree in Public Relations, Communications, marketing or related fieldMinimum 1-year related Communications experience Familiar with DSLR or mirrorless cameras and post-production editing platforms (such as Adobe Creative Suite)Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization.Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and InclusionBCHS is committed to building an inclusive and accessible workplace that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.
