OverviewWe are looking for a proactive and community-driven Community Manager (32 hours) to join ReDI School Hamburg from end of January. In this role, you will build and nurture an inclusive community of learners, volunteers, and partners while planning and executing events that strengthen our local ecosystem. You will represent ReDI at meet-ups and community spaces across Hamburg, Berlin and NRW, and support student and volunteer engagement.80% (32 hours per week)Contract from January to December 2026 (including a four-month probation period)Initiative application due to pending funding status: We will be able to confirm the role by the beginning of JanuaryFlexible working hours (evening availability required)Your missionThe Community Manager strengthens ReDI School’s local ecosystem by building an inclusive, supportive, and engaged community of learners, volunteers, and partners. They are the bridge between students, volunteers, partners, and the ReDI team, creating a welcoming environment where digital education, empowerment, and belonging can thriveYour tasksCommunity & Relationship BuildingCreate a warm, inclusive, and safe environment for all community members.Build and maintain strong relationships with students, volunteers, speakers, and partners.Engage diverse stakeholders and ensure their needs are understood and integrated into community activities.Actively listen to community feedback and translate insights into improvements or new initiatives.Event Planning & ExecutionPlan, organize, and execute community and career events end-to-end (venue, agenda, speakers, logistics).Manage multiple events simultaneously while ensuring high-quality delivery.Set up and operate hybrid/online tools such as Zoom, Teams, Eventbrite, and Meetup.Oversee accessibility, tech setup, and smooth on-site operations.Conduct post-event follow-up, including thank-you messages, surveys, and reporting.Communications & ContentWrite clear and engaging event announcements, newsletters, and social media posts.Moderate and speak confidently during events and community activities.Collect and share community stories to highlight student and volunteer voices.Create basic visual content using Canva (flyers, banners, presentation slides).Operations & DataManage event timelines, track progress, and coordinate internal and external stakeholders.Maintain CRM or community platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Slack, Notion, Circle).Track event attendance, retention, and satisfaction metrics and report insights to the team.Your profileAvailability and willingness to work evenings when requiredStrong knowledge of social media platforms and trendsWillingness and flexibility to travel frequently within Germany (5-6 times a year)Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team environmentExcellent communication skills, particularly in EnglishGood understanding of the migrants context and organizations in HamburgPreferred/Additional Qualifications:Experience with SalesforceProficiency in GermanDesign skills with an eye for visual communication Why us?We offer a job with purpose: we want to make a positive change in society and for people with a refugee or migration background.With us, you have an exciting job with a theme of the future!
