Who is the Texas Bankers Association?The Texas Bankers Association (TBA) is the largest and oldest state banking organization in the country. We pride ourselves on our collaborative team culture in which we embrace diversity of thought and innovation.What our team Needs: The Texas Bankers Association is seeking a motivated and experienced Compliance Officer to join our growing Compliance Alliance team. This position requires primarily written communication in responding to an array of document requests from bank employees, ranging from front-line staff to compliance officers to senior management. In addition, due to our growing Wealth Management & Trust services, preference will be given to any candidates with prior experience in wealth management and/or trust departments, though this is not an absolute requirement. Our Products service consists of developing and updating a variety of tools for our member banks to leverage as templates within their own institutions (e.g., policies, procedures, cheat sheets, risk assessments, calculators, etc.). The development of these tools is the primary responsibility of this role. A deep understanding of Microsoft Office applications is required, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, among others. Key Components of the Position include: Drafting sample policies, procedures, cheat sheets, risk assessments, calculators, etc. for members to use as templates that can be tailored to their individual institutionsUpdating tools on a scheduled basis and as-needed (e.g., regulatory changes/updates)Researching and compiling daily news publications delivered to bank members Maintaining a regulatory change management system to ensure our library of tools consistently remains up to date.Performing reviews of advertising and marketing campaigns, policies, procedures, disclosures, notices, and a variety of other compliance-related documentation to ensure compliance with relevant federal and state law requirements and best practices.Regularly advising members on laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations from the CFPB, OCC, FRB, FDIC, state regulators, and other regulatory bodies by way of these document reviews.Employing wealth management & trust expertise in the review and development of the documents described above. Occasionally writing short articles for our in-house publications on relevant compliance topics, including products that may be in development and findings that have arisen through our document reviews. Essential Qualifications & Characteristics:Bachelor’s degree and/or post-graduate degrees are preferred.At least 3-5 years of bank risk and compliance experience is required.Experience working for a FDIC-insured financial institution and/or a federal or state financial institution regulator is required.A regulatory compliance certification, such as the Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Community Bank Compliance Officer (CCBCO), etc. is preferred.Working knowledge of banking compliance laws and regulations is required (these include but are not limited to ECOA, Fair Lending, TILA, RESPA, UDAAP/UDAP, BSA/AML/OFAC, FCRA, CRA, and HMDA, among others).Experience in wealth management and/or trust divisions of financial institutions is preferred. Strong research, customer service, analytical, project and change management, and organizational skills are required.Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills are required.Computer proficiency in all Microsoft applications required.Ability to work independently with limited supervision.Detail oriented and able to maintain a high level of accuracy and quality in maintaining and producing tools.Compliance Alliance offers a comprehensive, total rewards package that includes competitive compensation and a flexible benefit package that reflects our commitment to creating a diverse and supportive workplace.
