POSITION OVERVIEWThe UEMOA Compliance Officer supports day-to-day compliance activities in the UEMOA region. This role ensures that local operations follow AML/CTF rules, KYC/KYB procedures, and regulatory requirements. The officer monitors transactions, supports partner onboarding, conducts checks and reporting, and works closely with regional teams to keep our remittance services safe, compliant, and aligned with local laws.WHERE: Open to other UEMOA countries too. Your Impact ZoneRegulatory ComplianceEnsure adherence to BCEAO, GIABA, and national regulatory frameworks applicable to payment institutions and fintech entities.Monitor changes in laws and regulations within the UEMOA Zone and advise management on compliance implications.Prepare and submit regulatory reports, including AML/CFT declarations (e.g., STRs/SARs) to the relevant FIU.Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors, and law enforcement agencies when required.AML/CFT & Risk ManagementImplement and maintain the company’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT) program.Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews.Monitor transactions and generate alerts for suspicious or unusual activities using the company’s monitoring tools.Coordinate the investigation and reporting of suspicious transactions.Conduct regular AML/CFT risk assessments of agents, partners, and customers.Internal Controls & Policy ImplementationDevelop, update, and enforce compliance policies and procedures in line with regional and international standards.Train employees and agents on AML/CFT compliance, consumer protection, and ethical conduct.Ensure compliance monitoring programs are effectively implemented and documented.Oversee agent onboarding, license renewals, and ensure ongoing compliance with operational requirements.Reporting & DocumentationMaintain accurate compliance records, including KYC files, training attendance, audit reports, and incident logs.Provide periodic compliance reports to senior management and regulatory authorities.Your Toolkit for the RoleBachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).Minimum 5–510 years’ experience in compliance, risk management, or AML/CFT within a financial institution, fintech, or remittance company.In-depth knowledge of UEMOA regulatory frameworks (BCEAO, GIABA, national FIUs).Familiarity with FATF recommendations and international AML/CFT standards.Experience with transaction monitoring systems and KYC tools.Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills.Fluency in French (required); English proficiency is an asset.________________________________________Who We AreWe are a Fintech company on a mission to accelerate the digitization of the financial industry in Africa and empower the unbanked.
