Construction Labourer (Civil)

This is a field position/on the road.Working under the supervision of the Foreman, the Labourer will assist the Civil Team with the installation of telecommunications infrastructure (buried cable, wire, or ducts) for various projects.The work will primarily be in and around the Edmonton Region. There could be a requirement to travel 15-20% of the time (within 3 hours or so of Edmonton) as needed.You Will Have The Opportunity ToAble to diagnose and locate cable faults and replace or repair Telecommunications cablesDigging holes and trenches, as well as support the excavation crewPlacing fibre and grade level boxesAble to complete landscaping restoration workAble to frequently use tools such as shovelsAid with general site preparation and clean-up as directedSafely loading and unloading vehicles with supplies and equipment as directedAble to run gas and power equipment (i.e., saws, drills, jumping jacks)Assist with the removal of debris from work sitesAssist with traffic control as directedAble to assess work environment for potential health and safety hazardsAbility to solve problems and perform well under pressure and time constraintsOther duties as requiredTHIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:Civil Construction (Shallow Utilities) or Landscaping industry experience is an assetCivil, Electric/Electronics or any other related field is an assetMust have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a good driver’s abstractExperience with towing trailers is an assetAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditionsMust be available to work additional hours (overtime) on occasion when requiredMust be proficient in internet and email usage, and able to learn new software quicklyGood verbal command of the English Language and great communication skillsMust be able to safely lift 80 lbs.Must be able to speak, read, and write in EnglishGood interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environmentWell-groomed and maintain continued professional appearance and demeanor.Must maintain prompt and consistent attendance to include arrival times for work on job assignments.Must be willing to complete an online criminal record check to the company’s satisfactionIS THIS YOU?
