Consultant - competitive salary - Paris, France (hybrid)Our client, a leading economics consultancy with a strong presence across Europe, is looking to add a Consultant to its Energy Practice in Paris. The firm tackles some of the most complex and high-impact questions facing governments, businesses, and society, helping organisations analyse and understand their markets, design effective strategies, and make decisions grounded in sound economic principles.RoleThis role is part of a team that advises governments, regulators, and energy companies on key energy and environmental economics issues, spanning policy, regulation, valuation, and competition. The team is recognised for its leadership in these areas, delivering expert, evidence-based advice that shapes effective decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement analytical approaches to address complex energy market and regulatory challengesApply economic theory to real-world issues, developing practical and data-driven frameworksManage significant workstreams, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery of outputsLead client engagement — from project scoping and presenting findings to maintaining strong, long-term relationshipsCoach and support colleagues to deliver high-quality analysis and foster their professional growthKey SkillA strong background in energy economics, ideally gained within a consultancy environment (experience within a regulator or energy company will also be considered)Proven experience in a relevant professional role, including mentoring or supporting junior team membersExcellent project management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence clients effectively.Strong commercial awareness and sound judgement to deliver practical, value-adding solutionsAdvanced data and analytical capabilitiesFluency in FrenchBroader experience and a willingness to contribute to adjacent practice areas such as telecoms and transport when requiredBenefitsHybrid working model offering flexibility and balanceOngoing learning and development opportunities, including career mentoring and structured growth pathwaysSupportive team culture with close collaboration across European officesExposure to challenging and diverse projects spanning industries, countries, and key policy areasIf you’re an energy economist seeking to work on complex, high-impact projects within a collaborative and intellectually rigorous environment, we’d like to hear from you.
