PATH is responsible for delivering (i) A strategic portfolio analysis showing innovation combinations needed to achieve significant MNCH mortality reductions (ii) supporting development of a health system Integration strategy for selected NCH innovations into the South African health context – among other deliverables. PATH is looking for a Consultant to lead the delivery of these objectives within the broader ALIGN project.Responsibilities: Advise the technical team on the MNCH policies, strategic framework, clinical guidelines and regulatory environment governing MNCH services in South AfricaSupport the technical team to conduct an MNCH strategic portfolio analysis, to determine innovations needed to achieve significant MNCH mortality reductions in SA and to shift the needle towards improved outcomesSupport the identification and gathering of source data required to support modelling work, using both the MANDATE and the Lives Saved Tool (LiST) frameworkContribute towards the development of a health systems integration strategy for MNCH innovations in South AfricaSupport the technical team in performing rapid literature reviews of existing evidence on MNCH innovations, landscape analyses and technical reportsAssist in the determination of capacity gaps to be addressed, to increase uptake and use of MNCH innovations and the feedback loops that need to be established to gain insights on user experienceSupport development of data collection tools (e.g. interview guides) for select in-country data collection and interviewsConduct field work including data collection and analysis, to get stakeholder inputs on MNCH innovation integration frameworkRequired skills and experience: Master’s degree or higher in public health, public policy, or related technical/clinical field5+ years of working in maternal, newborn and child healthClinical experience in provision of hands-on MNCH services in the South African settingExpertise related to policy analysis, implementation science, or health systemsPrevious experience in developing technical training materialsPrevious experience working with the MNCH directorate of the NDoH or World Health Organization in South Africa would be an added advantageExperience collaborating with technical and policy expertsExcellent verbal and oral communication skillsExcellent attention to detail, time-management, and organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in complex teamsFluent in English; additional languages a plus
