Role OverviewA prestigious tertiary care hospital in Saudi Arabia is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join its advanced surgical and critical care team. The role involves delivering safe, high-quality anesthesia care to pediatric patients undergoing a wide range of surgical and diagnostic procedures while contributing to teaching, research, and clinical governance.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive anesthesia care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents undergoing elective and emergency proceduresDevelop individualized anesthetic plans based on patient history, surgical needs, and perioperative riskMonitor and manage patients throughout the perioperative period, including post-anesthesia recoverySupervise and mentor junior anesthetists, residents, and fellowsParticipate in pediatric code blue and critical care response teamsContribute to departmental teaching, simulation training, and quality improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with SCFHS regulations and hospital policiesEngage in clinical research and continuing medical educationQualifications & RequirementsMedical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completed residency in AnesthesiologyFellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology from a recognized institutionBoard-certified (e.g., American Board, UK CCT, Canadian FRCP, or equivalent)Minimum 2–5 years of post-fellowship experience in pediatric anesthesiaEligible for Consultant classification by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantageStrong communication and crisis management skillsPreferred AttributesExperience in neonatal and pediatric intensive care settingsFamiliarity with advanced monitoring and anesthesia technologiesCommitment to patient safety, family-centered care, and multidisciplinary collaborationInterest in academic teaching or pediatric anesthesia research
