This role is designed for a seasoned pharmacist with deep experience in independent pharmacy management and regulatory navigation in the MOUD space who can add strategic expertise and credibility as Boulder expands to a national footprint.Representation & Advocacy Essential Function (30%)Represent Boulder in discussions with pharmacy management teams to address access challenges, bringing clinical credibility and pharmacy expertise.Lend authority and perspective to Boulder’s efforts to strengthen external partnerships.Operational & Strategic Expertise Essential Function (30%)Draw on prior experience in independent pharmacy operations, especially in high-volume prescribing environments for substance use disorder treatments.Provide business and operational context to inform Boulder’s approach to overcoming pharmacy and regulatory barriers.Regulatory & Compliance Insight Essential Function (20%)Advise on strategies for working successfully with the DEA and other regulatory agencies to ensure compliance while maintaining patient access.Help Boulder anticipate and navigate regulatory considerations as we scale.Scaling Support Essential Function (20%)Collaborate with Boulder leadership to design scalable solutions for pharmacy partnerships that support national expansion.Identify best practices and lessons learned from prior experiences in pharmacy management.QualificationsLicensed pharmacist with significant experience in pharmacy leadership or ownership (independent pharmacy management strongly preferred).Deep understanding of medication access challenges in substance use disorder care, particularly buprenorphine.Proven track record working effectively with the DEA and navigating regulatory requirements.Strong communication and problem-solving skills; comfortable representing an organization externally.Alignment with Boulder Care’s mission to expand access to evidence-based treatment and compassionate care.Nice to HavesExperience working in remote or telehealth environments.Familiarity with the substance use disorder (SUD) space.Work EnvironmentThis is a fully remote role but we are currently only hiring candidates located in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, KY, MA, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, WA, and WV. Applicants must reside and work in one of those states to be considered.Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.Office Requirements: Boulder teammates working with sensitive information must have a dedicated, private workspace with a lockable door and high-speed internet to maintain a secure, distraction-free environment, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standardsBoulder Care employees are free to use our river-front HQ located in Portland, OR whenever they would like.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a part-time consulting role, requiring approximately 10 hours per month. Team members may work with their managers to adjust work hours to suit the needs of the position.
